Nyktomorphia (pronouns: they/them, it/its) is a nonbinary neurodivergent pencil artist in the Bothell area who draws science fantasy, surrealism, geometry, body horror, cute nonsense, and pretty people. It is made of meat and ideas. Queer themes appear in its work through the blurring of human and inhuman forms, the commonality between the exceptional and the alien, the uncanniness of human nature, and the exaltation of things which do not belong.

A Sort of Brownian Jigsaw Puzzle

The construction of identity and personhood from the interactions of the conscious and unconscious mind is a frequent source of interest to me. “A sort of Brownian jigsaw puzzle” attempts to depict the phase of sleep when the mind exists only as remembered sensory experience and emotion, organized neither in the vagarious way of dreams nor the rigid categories of the waking world, unaware that it is even a mind at all.
