For Pride Month 2024, we want to celebrate 2SLGBTQIA+ creatives who live in Seattle’s Eastside communities.
The artwork will be on display in the gallery space at the Centro Cultural Mexicano in Redmond, WA from June 5 through June 28, 2024. The Centro Cultural Mexicano has hosted “Rainbow on the Eastside” since its inaugural art show in June 2021. We are grateful for their continued support in 2024.
Who can submit art?
Eastside residents who identify as Two Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, asexual, aromantic, transgender, intersex, non-binary or any other part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ rainbow. 🙂
For determining artist eligibility for this exhibition, we’re using the broadest definition of the Eastside: East King County and the Snoqualmie Valley.
That would include the cities of Kirkland, Redmond, Sammamish, Issaquah, Woodinville, Renton, Kenmore, Bothell, Bellevue, Clyde Hill, Medina, Yarrow Point, Hunts Point, Newcastle, Mercer Island, Duvall, North Bend, Snoqualmie, Preston, Fall City, and Carnation.
Eligible artwork
Original artwork created by the submitting artist is eligible. Fan art, copies of other artists’ paintings, work from commercial kits, or works based on other artists’ instructions or patterns are ineligible. (You can, however, submit artwork with designs based on Pride flags or other Pride-related symbols. )
The goal of this exhibition is to showcase the art of 2SLGBTQIA+ artists. The subject matter of the artwork does NOT have to the queer-themed.
Open to all media types. Photographers, painters, illustrators, jewelry artists, fiber artists and other artists are welcome to submit work for consideration. Due to space constraints, the gallery may not be able to accommodate installation art or digital displays that require the use of screens and/or projectors. Free standing sculptures should have an area footprint of one square foot or less.
Refer to Terms and Conditions for additional information.
